Network administration
The following tables show the DataScale SN10-8R IP address assignments for the access network and the data network, as described in the SN10 version of the DataScale SN10-8R hardware installation document. Your company provides the subnets and host IP addresses in the Pre-Delivery Site Survey document before the DataScale SN10-8R is delivered and installed.
1. Network device administration
For general configuration and maintenance of the network devices in the DataScale SN10-8R (data switch, access switch, and serial console server), see the specific product administration documentation:
-
Lantronix SLC8000 serial console server:
https://cdn.lantronix.com/wp-content/uploads/pdf/SLC8000_UG.pdf -
Juniper EX4300 access switch:

Juniper QFX5200 Ethernet high-bandwidth data switch (for the data network):
https://www.juniper.net/documentation/product/en_US/qfx5200
There should be minimal need to configure the serial console server and the Juniper access switch. For port connection details, see the SN10 version of the DataScale SN10-8R hardware installation document.
SambaNova highly recommends that you change the default passwords at first login. Use the following commands to initiate a password change on specified devices. Follow the prompts to create a new, secure password: Juniper EX4300 access switch and QFX5200 data switch:

SambaNova provides patch release for these network devices, although a given patch does not always include new updates.
You can download these patches from the SambaNova ext-infra-patch
repository. See KB article #1062 "Listing and downloading available SN10-8R firmware" for details.
Patch release notes explain any steps that differ from the standard steps described in the product administration documentation.
2. IP address assignments for the access network
Table 1 shows the access network IP address assignments for components such as the BMC, the switch equipment, and the PDUs in the DataScale SN10-8R. The example IP addresses shown in the Example (10.0.1.0/26) column assume a customer provided a 10.0.1.0/26 subnet.
Reserved addresses and the broadcast IP address don’t have default usernames and passwords. |
