SambaRack Manager is a tool for centralized hardware administration of customer-managed, on-premises SambaRack deployments. SambaRack Manager enables operations at four levels:
  • Rack: A complete SambaRack unit, including nodes and networking components.
  • Node: An individual SN40L node unit within a Rack, excluding networking components.
  • Device: Individual hardware components in a Rack.
  • Group: A collection of Racks for batch operations.
See What’s in the Rack for more details.
SambaRack Manager is not used for administering Kubernetes or SambaStack software.

Key capabilities

Typical workflow

  1. Install the snctl binary – Install and upgrade
  2. Initialize configuration and verify dependencies – Initial setup
  3. Add racks and their devices to the inventory – import an inventory file in one command, or add them manually – Rack administration
  4. Configure credentials for every device type – Device credentials
  5. Operate: batch operations (Group administration), power (Power Operations), and firmware (Firmware Updates)
