# SambaNova model deprecations

SambaNova regularly updates its products with new open-source models and consequently retires those that have fallen in market relevance. This document outlines the deprecation process, provides guidance on migration, and maintains a historical record of deprecated models with their recommended alternatives.

## SambaCloud model deprecation process

### Notifications

* **Production models**: Production models will receive a deprecation notice of at least two to three weeks.
* **Preview models**: Preview models may graduate to **Production** or be deprecated with short notice.

  Models scheduled for cloud deprecation may still be available on SambaStack. See the [SambaStack models](/en/sambastack/service-administration/supported-models-and-bundles) page for available options.

All model deprecations are listed below, by date, with the most recent announcements at the top.

### June 9, 2026

On June 9, 2026, SambaNova notified users of the following Preview model deprecations.

### June 25, 2025

On June 11, 2025, SambaNova notified users of the following model deprecations and category changes, which were moved from Production to Preview. SambaNova recommends transitioning to the suggested replacement models as soon as possible to avoid any disruptions.
